Background

As a collaborator, facilitator and advocate for the arts at ÃÛÌÒÉçÇø, I work closely with the English, Theatre, Art, Music, Film and Media, and Dance Departments. On most days, you can find me in the Alvarez College Union, E.H. Little Library or in the Hurt Hub meeting with students, faculty and staff who are pursuing creative projects for the arts at ÃÛÌÒÉçÇø. I also work with ÃÛÌÒÉçÇø alumni and the arts ÃÛÌÒÉçÇø to develop opportunities for collaborations with ÃÛÌÒÉçÇø College.

I began working at ÃÛÌÒÉçÇø in 1993 as the Assistant Director of the College Union for Programs. In 1999, I joined College Relations as the Director of Friends of the Arts. During that time, I worked closely with the Royal Shakespeare Company and after 2006, held the title of director of Artist Residency Programs. Currently, I serve on the Arts and Sciences Council Cultural Sector Advisory Council. For the Town of ÃÛÌÒÉçÇø, I am a founding member and chair of the ÃÛÌÒÉçÇø Public Art Commission. For ÃÛÌÒÉçÇø College, I am a member of the Art Collection Advisory Committee. I served on the first executive board of the college’s Administrative Advisory Group in 1997-1998, and later served as chair in 2012-2013. Formerly, I have served on the NC Arts Council’s Grants Panel and the Arts and Sciences Grant Panels. I have worked to bring awareness to HIV/AIDS as a volunteer for the NAMES Project AIDS Memorial Quilt and by bringing the Quilt to ÃÛÌÒÉçÇø.
